Rabbi David Tawil is a graduate of MDY elementary and high school. He spent a year at Yeshivat Torat Shraga in Israel, and then in Brooklyn College where he received a BA in  psychology. He received semicha from the Sephardic Rabbinical College and is currently a teacher at Barkai Yeshivah and assistant rabbi at Congregation Shaare Shalom.
